Jewellery Storage Ideas

If you have an ever growing collection of jewellery what's the best way to organise it? Do you prefer to have your jewellery on display so that you can see it when you're getting ready in the morning, or do you like to have it tucked away in a box or drawer full of your secret treasures?

I have to confess that my jewellery collection is pretty messy. I know it shouldn't be, but we are all human after all. So I have been on the look out for ideas to keep my jewellery stored safely and collecting them on one of my Pinterest boards. Below are some of my favourites ideas so far.

Segmented drawer - Use little dishes or boxes to segment out one of your dressing table drawers, so that you can pop items into their own special space without them getting tangled or damaged.

Wall display - Use a picture frame, pin board or piece of recycled wood that you can attach hooks to, which you can hang your beautiful jewellery from.

Glass jewellery boxes - Try a glass jewellery box for storage. You will still be able to see all of your pretty pieces but they will be safely out of harms way.

Jewellery tree - Buy or make your own jewellery tree to create a statement on your dressing table and always have your favourite accessories to hand.

Your wardrobe door - Pop some hooks on the back of your wardrobe door so that you can hang your favourite jewellery there and grab it at the same time as your outfit.

Metals that tarnish - One thing you do need to bear in mind is whether your jewellery is made from a metal that will air tarnish. If you have silver or plated items then it is definitely worth seeking out air tight containers, or storage solutions with anti-tarnish inserts, so that you don't have to keep polishing your jewellery. I usually pop any silver items I have inside a small plastic zip lock bag if I know I'm not going to wear them for a while.

I would love to hear about how you store your jewellery. Do let me know your favourite ways below.
