My Commitment to Responsible Jewellery

At Little Gems Jewels, sustainability isn't a marketing strategy, it's just how I do things. Here's what that looks like in practice.

Jewellery That Lasts a Lifetime ... and Then Some

I offer free repairs for life on every piece I make. If something gets damaged, send it back and I'll fix it (you cover postage to me; I'll cover it back to you). If you lose a gemstone, I'll replace it for just £5. I believe jewellery should be worn for years, passed on, and treasured, not thrown away.

Carbon Neutral Shipping on Every Order

Every delivery I send is carbon neutral through Shopify Planet, which offsets the emissions from your order automatically. It's built into how I operate, not an optional add-on.

Packaging Without the Plastic

Your order arrives in a recycled cardboard gift box inside a Jiffy green padded envelope or a recycled card box with no plastic bubble wrap, ever. Everything is fully recyclable or reusable, and I think it looks beautiful too.

Thoughtfully Sourced Gemstones

I source my gemstones from trusted UK suppliers I've worked with for years, and I also use some lab-created gemstones. I'll be honest: full supply chain transparency in the gemstone industry is genuinely complex, and I'm working toward greater visibility. What I can promise is that ethics guide every sourcing decision I make.

Materials Built to Last

I work primarily in stainless steel, partially recycled, 100% recyclable, tarnish resistant, and hypoallergenic. Jewellery that doesn't irritate your skin is jewellery you'll actually keep wearing.

Returns Are Circular

My no quibble 30 day returns policy exists so you can shop with confidence. If earrings are returned, I recycle them and reuse the gemstones so they don't go to waste.

My Carbon Footprint

I don't own a car and offer free local deliveries within Sherborne on foot. The electricity used to run my office is from 100% renewable energy.

Recycling

I recycle as much as possible in the day to day running of Little Gems Jewels. Offcuts of cardboard from my gift box inserts are used to write notes or lists first before they are recycled. Packaging that I receive from my suppliers or for other home deliveries is reused when I send out my wholesale orders too.

I'm not perfect, and I won't pretend otherwise. But these are real commitments, not promises and I'm proud of them. Gem xxx
